Hollywood & Highland

This past Friday I wore the outfit above and I realized how far I will go to get a fake tan. Really, how far I will go to get a fake tan using St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse, which in my opinion, is the only self tanner worth using.

I also realized that I will go to one of the most openly fake and overly crowded places in Los Angeles in order to get a fake tan. This place being Hollywood Boulevard. If you are wondering what Hollywood Boulevard has to do with me getting a fake tan, well, the only Sephora that had the size of St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse that I wanted happened to be the one in the mall at Hollywood and Highland.

Despite being a little freaked out by everything going on, we had a good time and I currently have a pretty nice fake tan. Now that I think about it, maybe I will post some post fake tan pictures...

Summer Perfect Outfit

Happy Friday!
I am going to take a momentary break from posting pictures
from here in Los Angeles to show you some pictures from VT.

This is one of my go to summer outfits that I feel like works on both coasts.
If you know me then you know that East Coast outfits vs. West Coast outfits
is something that I struggle with (mostly because I usually wear all black)
so I feel like I have cracked some sort of fashion code.

What is more perfect for summer than a fairy-light,
white cotton top paired with some denim?

And now that I have brought up fairy-light tops...
I actually love this top so much that I have been thinking
about picking it up in black seeing as it is now on sale.
Or do you think that would be too much?

Federal Blue Current/Elliott Stiletto Jeans

Top : Urban Outfitters // Bottoms : Current/Elliott // Shoes : Gap //

I picked up this pair of 'federal blue' jeans from Current/Elliott a couple of days ago. I had wanted a pair of light weight blue jeans for the summer months and I think these were just what I was looking for. I got them just in time too seeing as the past few days have been extremely hot and sunny, which in my opinion is so much nicer than endless days of rain.
I paired them with the white cotton top that I bought for my trip to Scottsdale. Both garments are simple and perfect for extremely hot days and I have a feeling they will be two of my summer essentails.

Happy Sunday!

Packing One Carry-On for One Week : Scottsdale, AZ

One of the outfits I laid out (inspired by my moodboard).

As I mentioned in my post about Louis Vuitton's Art of Packing, I recently traveled to Scottsdale, AZ for a week of sunshine. It was so nice to be in the warm weather and to be able to wake up and see palm trees out my window.

I also enjoyed being able to wear skirts and dresses again, one of the perks of Arizona's harsh weather (100°+ heat and unhealthy amounts of sun exposure), which is something I was well aware of before I left and took into account while preparing what I was going to bring in my one carry-on suitcase.

I say prepare because I find that in order to pack things that I will actually wear I have to follow a process that prevents me from bringing unnecessary items. I get so annoyed with myself when I end up with a suitcase full of garments that I have no interest in and do not end up wearing, I do not even know how to explain it!

This is how I prevent that from happening :
  1. Make a mood board!!! I swear I am happiest with what I bring with me when I make a mood board before hand.
  2. Look up the weather.
  3. Find out what sort of activities you will be doing and make note of any activity that requires any sort of special attire (a party, hiking, etc.).
  4. Make a calendar for the days that you will be away that marks the weather and any special events that you have planned.
  5. Make a list of things you know you need/want to bring.
  6. Using the mood board and calendar choose and set aside any special occasion outfits.
  7. Choose garments/shoes/accessories that you can mix and match so you do not bring too many things. Try to eliminate anything that you know you will not wear.
  8. Lay everything out to make sure you are not missing anything!
What is your process? I would love to know!!
